Rising Higher to Hear More Clearly

Rising Higher to Hear More Clearly

In the last Word in Season, I covered a prophetic dream I had concerning the importance of entering and living out of the rest of the Lord. If we do not heed the message, we may find ourselves unprepared for what is about to break out upon us. In addition, if we do not heed the message, we could find ourselves casualties of “burn out” and discouragement.

In another prophetic dream, I was speaking with Rick Joyner (an internationally known prophetic minister). I said to him, “Did you know you can fly?”

“Like this?” he asked, as he ran leaping in the air with his arms outstretched, flapping them with strenuous effort, like a Herne trying to take off into flight.

“No, like this,” I replied, as I stood still, with my arms outstretched to the sides, palms facing upward toward the sky. I then closed my eyes and entered into a place of total rest, trust, and confidence in the Lord, to lift me up. As I did, I began to rise higher and higher, without the least bit of effort.

Then the dream ended. This dream carries much of the same theme and message of the Recliner dream I shared last month, with a few more additions. Again, the Lord is showing us a key to rising higher and higher into the realm of the Spirit. The key is rest, stillness, trust and confidence in the Lord. Rising higher into the realm of the Spirit will not be achieved through human effort and straining, even if this effort is from activities such as prayer, fasting, disciplined study of the Word, etc. These all have their place, but must be entered into with the right motives and purposes.

If our focus is on our works, our commitment, or our whatever, we will discover it is never enough. However, if our focus is on God’s love, God’s finished work, God’s goodness and commitment to us, we will discover it is always enough.

Did you know you can fly higher in the realms of the Spirit and the prophetic? You can! Learn the art of being still and quiet in His presence, focusing the eyes of your heart upon Him in childlike trust and confidence. In that place, you will begin to hear and see more clearly.

So Jesus explained, “I tell you the truth, the Son can do nothing by himself. He does only what he sees the Father doing. Whatever the Father does, the Son also does (John 5:19 NLT).
